The Negative Dimension also represents individual free will, independent of outside circumstances, as one will get ice cream, just because the idea has occurred to one, and for no other reason, not hunger or urges, or the instruction of others.
In terms of space and time, the ability of the memory facilitates and creates
an expansion of awareness, beyond the boundary of immediate perception of the Positive Dimension. Referring to space: what exists outside the perceptible circumstance, as one remembers that the kitchen is around the corner. Or in terms of time: as what has taken place in the past, like that day of graduation, and in reference to the future, as what may come to pass, like the trip next summer.
Association is the selecting and comparing by the memory, of sensory impressions or images, which are recalled from the memory, and are compared to present experience, other recall, or thinking in the present moment. What is stored in the memory is termed Comparative Value. Comparative Value is the association that is selected from the memory, which is the general or specific impressions, images or symbols, that are isolated from the myriad of stored experience and cognition, which is compared to any or all elements, in any
given present circumstance or thinking. Like the sight of apples may remind
one of pie, or the thought snow may make one feel cold.
Association is the ability of the memory to recognize, identify, define and give context, to any given subject in present experience, or as present thinking.
If one sees or thinks a dog, the impressions are compared to images in the memory. I remember that this dog bites, and cross the street. Or one sees or thinks car, and may associate, any number of attributes, pertaining to the
subject car, like models, races, crashes size, color, etc.
Association is classified as Correspondent and Disconjunctive.
